Basso has made 161 league starts for City in less than four seasons
Bristol City goalkeeper Adriano Basso has been placed on the transfer list at his own request.
The 34-year-old Brazilian has turned down an "excellent new deal" with City, according to the Robins.
His name has now been circulated to other clubs, and City are waiting to see if they get any enquiries for Basso, who has a year left on his deal.
The veteran joined City in 2005 and has been a huge hit with supporters, making 178 appearances for the club.
In 2007 he was named footballer of the year at the BBC West Sports Awards.
City boss Gary Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol: "It's one of those difficult situations, you hope he's fixed up something to move on, if he hasn't he's made a pretty bad mistake.
"We're all still disappointed by it and disturbed by it. I feel the club has done a lot for Adriano. The club has done everything to keep him here."
