Amateur League Kilmore Rec could not repeat their County Antrim Shield upset at Ballymena as the senior side ran out 4-1 winners in the Irish Cup. Matthew Nolan scored two for the Sky Blues whose other goals came from Dominic Melly and Oran Kearney.
The Crossgar minnows were in contention early on with a John McCarthy goal making it 1-1 on 15 minutes.
Ballymena's Joe Gray and Kilmore brothers Philip and Stephen Rogan were sent-off near the end.
The trio were red-carded after players got involved in a brawl.
By that stage Kenny Shiels' Sky Blues were assured of their place in the quarter-finals.
They had taken an early lead when Nolan volleyed into the net after a good run and cross from Gareth Mullan.
Kilmore levelled with a bullet header from McCarthy but went behind again when Melly fired in on 38 minutes.
Two minutes into the second half United went two up when Nolan scored again, this time from a Matthew Muldoon pass.
The three dismissals came in the 85th minute, before Kearney wrapped things up with Ballymena's fourth goal.
