Shane Reddish saw his Ards side clinch a place in the quarter-finals |
Gary Kennedy was the hero for Ards with both goals to send them through to the quarter-finals of the Irish Cup. Ards, without a league win since November, looked to be heading out of the cup when Declan Divin put Institute into a 68th minute lead.
But Gary Kennedy struck a great long-range free-kick to equalise and then four minutes into stoppage-time he headed the winner.
Ards will have to wait to find out who they play in the last eight.
Shane Reddish's side have been drawn against the winners of Portadown v Newry City or Bangor.
Boss reddish was delighted with the display of matchwinner Kennedy.
"We left Gary out of the side last week because we felt his form had dipped a bit," said Reddish.
"But he responded in the right way. Strikers go through little patches like that and hopefully Gary is over his now.
"This could kick-start our season because we need to put some results together."
