Paul Brown scored his hat-trick in the first half |
Paul Brown's hat-trick piled on the misery on Omagh Town as Limavady claimed a 5-2 at St Julian's Road. The result came a week after Portadown hammered Jonathan Speake's side 9-0.
Limavady led 3-2 at half-time with all Brown's goals coming in the first half and John Donaghy and Tony Shields (penalty) on target for Omagh.
Vincent Sweeney's penalty then extended Limavady's lead after Brown had been fouled and Kevin Ramsay completed the scoring on the hour.
Donaghy put Omagh ahead in the third minute after connecting with a Niall Bonner free-kick.
Brown notched his opening goal in the ninth minute with a 20 yard effort and he then put Limavady ahead in the 18th minute after a Ryan McIlmoyle cross.
Omagh were on terms in the 24th minute when Shields hammered home a penalty after Richard McGinley had been fouled.
However, Limavady's lead was restored seven minutes before the break when Brown headed in a Brendan Devenney cross.
Sweeney struck the fourth goal from the spot in the 54th minute while Ramsay added the fifth on the hour after a mistake by Omagh defender Seamus Fanthorpe.
