Jimmy McGeough's Larne are up to third in the Premier League |
Larne secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season to move up to third place in the Daily Mirror Irish Premier League table. Central defenders Alan Murphy and Paul Curran scored with headers to send Jimmy McGeough's side within a point of new leaders Glentoran.
Murphy got the first on 31 minutes after James Crossley and Mark Dickson had combined at a short corner.
Curran then nodded in the second five minutes before the end.
Understrength Institute had gone close to making it 1-1 in the first half but Stuart Bratton was guilty of a bad miss after getting away from the Larne defence.
Young Larne keeper Chris Keenan also pulled off an excellent save from Declan Divin.
