Stephen Collier got his first goal since joining Limavady from Linfield |
Limavady were a six-hit at the Showgrounds where they overran visitors Larne to pick up three easy Irish Premier League points. Paul Brown got the home side on their way in the fifth minute and further goals by Kevin Ramsey and Stephen Collier gave them a good interval lead.
Ramsey and Brown both doubled their tally on the restart with Mark McDaid adding to the rout.
Larne had little to offer and ended up coming a poor second.
Once Brown fired in a rocket after just five minutes it was suspected that it was going to be Limavady's day.
Tommy Wright's side went two-up in the 14th minute when Larne goalkeeper Chris Keenan's attempted clearance cannoned off Ramsey and fly into the net.
It got even better for Limavady 13 minutes later when Collier rifled in a shot from an acute angle.
Ramsey and Brown scored twice in as many minutes to make sure the points were going to Limavady.
McDaid added the icing on the cake with a sixth goal in the 77th minute.
