| Saturday, 25 January, 2003, 17:06 GMT Saturday's FA Cup round-up ![]() Heidar Helguson earns Watford a dramatic win FA Cup fourth round round-up Watford earned a 1-0 victory against Premiership strugglers West Brom in the biggest surprise of the FA Cup fourth round. Baggies keeper Russell Hoult saved Neil Cox's penalty as Watford wasted a glorious chance to win, but Heidar Helguson won it with just 10 minutes left. Third Division Rochdale pulled off a major shock against Coventry City with a 2-0 victory at Spotland. Paul Connor surprised the Sky Blues with the opening goal and Gareth Griffiths headed Dale 2-0 up at the start of the second half. Southampton were rescued by a last-minute equaliser from Kevin Davies against Millwall. Steve Claridge toe-poked Millwall into a shock lead and that looked like being the winner until Davies netted at the death. Farnborough's FA Cup fairytale came to an end at Highbury where Arsenal won 5-1. Sol Campell headed the Gunners ahead from a corner and Francis Jeffers added the second before Farnborough's Christian Lee was sent off. Jeffers netted his second for Arsenal but Rocky Baptiste netted a consolation for the Conference side. Dennis Bergkamp and Lauren completed the scoring for Arsenal as they won at a canter. Dagenham & Redbridge suffered a 1-0 injury-time defeat at Norwich. The Conference side were set for a replay until Zema Abbey netted Norwich's dramatic winner. Gillingham fought back for a 1-1 draw against Leeds United, who had Mark Viduka sent off.
Alan Smith fired Leeds ahead early in the second half but Mamady Sidibe's late effort earned a replay. Sunderland had to settle for a 3-3 draw against Blackburn. Sunderland had the perfect start when Marcus Stewart swept home Michael Proctor's cross after 69 seconds. Andy Cole soon levelled but Proctor fired Sunderland 2-1 ahead early in the second half after an Andy Todd error. Kevin Phillips strengthened Sunderland's advantage before Cole gave Rovers hope and Dwight Yorke scored a last-minute equaliser. Wolves had few problems disposing of Leicester as they won 4-1. George Ndah scored twice for Wolves in the first half either side of a Paul Dickov penalty.
Burnley won 3-0 at Brentford with all three goals coming in the second half Robert Blake put the Clarets ahead and Paul Cook and Glen Little made certain for the visitors. Sheffield United claimed a dramatic 4-3 victory over Ipswich Town. The Blades took command with first-half goals from Michael Brown and Phil Jagielka. Brown scored a sensational second on his 26th birthday before Ipswich staged a remarkable fightback. Goals from Thomas Gaardsoe, Tommy Miller (penalty) and Darren Bent in the space of five minutes brought Ipswich level. Substitute Paul Peschisolido won it for Neil Warnock's side. Walsall edged out First Division rivals Wimbledon 1-0 at the Bescot Stadium. David Zdrilic scored the only goal of the tie for the Saddlers to end Wimbledon's Cup dreams. |
