Welling United player-manager Jamie Day said that whilst an FA Cup run would be welcome, the league was his priority.
Welling will face Bromley in the Blue Square Bet South on Saturday before taking on the Lillywhites in the FA Cup a week later.
Day told BBC Radio Kent: "Every club would like a good FA Cup run. It helps the club financially, but for me the league is the bread and butter.
"I'd take three points over us winning in the cup if that were the case."
Woking and Dartford's wins in the league on Tuesday night usurped the Wings at the top of the table after Welling lost 2-1 at Boreham Wood on Monday.
Day said that the league encounter this weekend would not have much bearing on the FA Cup clash.
"Hopefully we can get a good result this week. It's going to be difficult playing them twice in seven days.
"I think we'll just approach it as normal trying to get three points but the cup game is a one off. Anything can happen."
He added: "We might rotate the squad around or see what we've got available. We're looking to win both games."
