Martin Hayes named a rare unchanged side against Basingstoke

Dartford remain third in Blue Square Bet South after beating Eastleigh 3-0.

Charlie Sheringham scored his seventh and eighth goals of the season which puts them two points off the lead.

After conceding 11 goals in their last two games Tonbridge kept their second successive clean sheet away from home to draw 0-0 with Thurrock.

Dover and Bromley also drew while Welling remain top despite a 3-2 defeat at Dorchester despite their late comeback.

Dover manager Martin Hayes had come under criticism for his squad rotation policy early season but he named the same XI that beat Chelmsford seven days earlier for their 0-0 draw with Basingstoke.

Hayes told BBC Radio Kent: "It's been our problem, we've played well, made a load of chances but can't put the ball in the net.

"Some was good goalkeeping, some was good finishing but I can't believe it was 0-0.

"Defensively we've been good, Basingstoke were strong in the first 20 minutes, we then dominated, and apart from the late chance they had our goalkeeper was quiet."

Cray Wanderers made it three wins in a row, beating Harrow Borough 4-0 away from home.

"It's been fantastic, we got a free kick after 49 minutes of the first half, deserved to go in 1-0 up." manager Ian Jenkins told BBC Radio Kent.

"The side I've got for this budget is fantastic really. Hopefully we can go better, maybe conference south.

"We've got loud music playing in the dressing room, karaoke in the dressing room, we've got a lot of banter about the club, but it's easy if you're winning." he said.

Maidstone United went one better with a fourth straight win. They beat Croydon Athletic 2-0.

Player manager Jay Saunders said: "That was a good result for us, the first game of the season we hold our hands up, Whitehawk were the better side. We should have won the game against Whitstable, but I was confident if we kept creating chances we'd win games."

Folkestone and Faversham were the other winners in Ryman South as they beat Crawley Down and Walton and Hersham respectively.

Chatham Town missed the chance to go top of Ryman North as they lost 2-0 to the leaders Grays Athletic.

Chatham only just avoided relegation last season but they started Saturday's game level with the league leaders.

"It wasn't a bad start," said manager Kevin Watson. "They deserved to win the game, it stopped us playing the way we need to, all credit to them. We didn't give a good account of ourselves."

"I don't know if they're the best team in the league until we see all the teams. Grays are very experienced, what they do they do well and we were not able to adapt today."

Ashford United are still in the FA Vase in their first ever season in the competition. They drew 2-2 with Sussex League Shoreham and will replay in midweek. Beckenham, Tunbridge Wells, Erith Town, Lordswood and Woodstock Sports all won through to the second qualifying round.

Herne Bay's 5-0 win over Greenwich means they overtake Canterbury at the top of the Kent league, Bly Spartans are still top of the Kent Invicta League after their 1-1 draw at Bridon Ropes while Farnborough OBG are the new Kent County League leaders. They beat Tonbridge Invicta 7-1.
