Farnborough manager Garry Haylock eyes top six finish

Farnborough

Farnborough manager Garry Haylock says their hopes for the season rest on the quality of the players they can sign.

Boro drew their first game of the Blue Square Bet South campaign 1-1 away to Eastbourne Borough on Saturday.

Haylock told BBC Surrey: "I'd like to think that, right now, we would finish in the top 10.

"If we get the extra couple of players we hope to get in the next few weeks and one of them has a really good season, I think we're a top six side."

The Hampshire side are still rebuilding following the departure of manager Steve King and the release of the entire first-team squad at the end of last season.

"It was a good performance from a side that had not played a competitive game together," Haylock added.

"There is lots of ability and some very good players in the side.

"It's trying to get them focused and disciplined. I'd like to think we'll be competitive in every game."
