Farnborough are financially stable, says Garry Haylock

Farnborough

Farnborough boss Garry Haylock insists the club will not be affected by Simon Hollis stepping down as chairman.

Hollis, who helped to reform the club in 2007, has left the club after being hit by the economic downturn.

Haylock told BBC Surrey: "There's absolutely no problem with the playing budget or the running costs.

"The revenue streams at the club will pay for the playing budget. Simon just won't be putting any extra money in this season. That was always the plan."

Haylock believes Farnborough could repeat last year's play-off finish in Blue Square Bet South this season.

"We've got a very young and hungry side with pace in it," Haylock said. "The problem is we may be inconsistent.

"Over the course of the season, we'll try and gain some consistency and try and push ourselves into the play-off spots.

"It will take another eight to 10 weeks before we are settle down with the squad."

The Hampshire side start their campaign away to Eastbourne Borough on Saturday.
