Ryan Fryatt scored the only goal for Town in their away defeat to St Neots

The countdown is on to this weekend's FA Vase semi-finals and King's Lynn Town most certainly had one eye on the first leg during their game on Saturday.

A number of key players were rested for the United Counties League Cup match at St Neots and the 2-1 defeat will not be seen as an issue.

The main thing is preparing well for the game at Coalville on Saturday, although Lynn still have a league game against S&L Corby on Tuesday to get through as well.

It's that awful time when you just hope injuries stay away, but equally they will be keen to get the win that keeps them in touch at the top of the UCL Premier.

Hopes of bringing the Ridgeons Premier Division title back to the county are fast disappearing.

Although Wroxham won at the weekend there were more dropped points for Dereham Town.

It means Leiston are now 10 points clear at the top of the table and only a massive collapse (hardly likely seeing as they've only lost one league game so far) would see anyone else winning the league.

The game of the day in Ridgeons Division One produced seven goals, but the result not what we had hoped for.

Gorleston went into the match at Emerald Park against Cambridge University Press in top spot, but a 4-3 defeat saw the visitors displace them.

The Greens do however have games in-hand so they have every chance of making amends as the season draws to a close.

Diss Town maintained their own promotion push with a 3-0 win at Long Melford.
