Second-placed Norwich were denied all the spoils as Nicky Barmby grabbed a second-half equaliser for Hull City.
Tigers striker Aaron Mclean went close to scoring an early opener but Norwich hit back brilliantly on the half-hour.
David Fox caught out goalkeeper Brad Guzan with a clever free-kick and Zak Whitbread followed up to nod in.
Guzan tipped over Wes Hoolahan's fierce shot to keep Hull in the game and their reward came on 73 minutes when Barmby pounced on Matt Fryatt's cross.
Norwich are now only one point clear in second, while Hull keep alive their slim hopes of snatching a play-off place.
Hull, who had won three and lost two of their last five games, went close early on when Liam Rosenior had a shot blocked by Elliott Ward.
Matt Fryatt forced a good save from John Ruddy with a low drive before later James Harper somehow scooped his shot over from four yards out.
Ruddy also did well to tip Andy Dawson's 30-yard free-kick over the bar.
At the other end, Norwich's Wes Hoolahan had an effort brilliantly tipped away by Brad Guzan at the near-post.
Top scorer Grant Holt volleyed over from 20 yards, while team-mate and substitute Simeon Jackson came close for the visitors with a curling effort.
