Walsh made it 11 wins in 11 fights |
Liam Walsh retained his Commonwealth super-featherweight crown by stopping challenger John Kays in the 10th round. The 24-year-old from Norfolk took plenty of punishment from Kays who was roared on by his home fans in Wigan. But Walsh stepped up a gear late on, and a combination of head and body shots sent his opponent to the canvas and he failed to beat the ref's count. The Cromer fighter was defending the Commonwealth title he took off Maxwell Awuku last October.
