Former Valiant Glover joined Worcester in the summer
A Danny Glover hat-trick helped Worcester City beat struggling Hyde in Monday's Blue Square Bet North match.
Glover struck twice early on, heading home Kevin O'Connor's eighth-minute cross before sweeping in from a Rob Elvins header four minutes later.
Elvins smashed in City's third from close range shortly after but Hyde hit back with goals before half time from Kevin Holsgrove and Chris Lynch.
Glover's third on 73 minutes secured City's third straight league win.
Worcester City manager Carl Heeley told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "We all want to see nice silky football with 10 or 12 passes strung together but the pitch is showing signs of wear and tear.
"We played on Saturday, Evesham had a game here yesterday when there was torrential rain pretty much all day.
"You saw the scars of that this evening and it was a tricky surface so as much as we would like to see the fluent passing game sometimes you just have to grind out a results and we have done that again."
