Thame United marked their first game at the new ASM Stadium at Meadow View Park with a 2-2 draw against Bracknell Town.
Thame left their previous ground, the Windmill Road Stadium, in 2005.
After their first game at the ASM Stadium attracted a gate of 356, club chairman Jake Collinge admitted: "We've looked forward to this for five years.
"I take pride in what we've achieved," he told BBC Oxford. "We knew it would be something positive that would benefit the whole town."
The bad weather caused last weekend's scheduled home fixture against Wokingham & Emmbrook to be postponed, which meant the U's had to wait an additional seven days to play at their new home.
"I was disappointed not to get the first game played last weekend," said Collinge. "But a week is nothing when you've waited five years to get this going and the whole town will get to enjoy the facility."
Since their eviction from Windmill Road, Thame have been forced to groundshare at Chesham and Wallingford.
But the U's chairman is hopeful that the new £3m complex will attract large crowds.
"We hope to put on a show that brings people back for future games," he said.
"When we played in Thame many of the players were from outside the town.
"But now we are a team full of local players, we anticipate their friends and family will come to watch the games as well."
