Thame United's search for a permanent home could soon be over after proposals to develop 20 acres at Church Farm were submitted to the council.

Frank Thompson, from Thame Football Partnership, said the £3.5 million development "should be ready for the start of the 2009 season".

"But we are still dependent on the sale of the old Windmill Road site."

United, who left The Windmill Stadium in 2005, currently play their home games at Wallingford's Hithercroft.
