Harrogate Town paid for defensive lapses with a 2-1 defeat at Workington in Blue Square Bet North.
Jonny Wright gave Workington the lead before Graeme Armstrong equalised almost instantly, but Gari Rowntree scored the winner close to half-time.
Town manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York: "It was disappointing because we couldn't continue the early form for the rest of the game.
"We've got to show that ruthless streak," he added.
Weaver said he was disappointed because of the good start his side made.
He said: "The first 10 minutes you're thinking this is our game. I thought we were the superior side.

"But they gritted that period out and they got a goal from two of our mistakes. I thought we were a bag of nerves at the back in the first half.
"We didn't get it down and play half as well as we could do. We're a lot more capable than what we showed."
Harrogate Town's next game is at home to Boston United.
