Harrogate Town off the mark with draw against Droylsden
Harrogate Town got their first point of the season with a 3-3 draw at home to Droylsden in Blue Square Bet North.
Two goals from Liam Hardy gave Town the lead after Rob Lloyd opened the scoring for Droylsden.
Graeme Armstrong put Town ahead again but further goals from Ciaran Kilheeny and David McNiven levelled the game.
Harrogate manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York: "I think you've seen the arrival of several new faces at Harrogate Town tonight."
He added: "I think it was a very good performance really. The stats don't lie.
"We've conceded three goals and two goals in the first game but I thought we were a little bit unlucky to be honest in the end. I thought we played some very good football."
Weaver also had praise for 20-year old striker Ryan Kendall, who made his debut for Town after playing for Hull's reserve side last season.
The Town manager said: "I got in touch with him over the summer, I think he's got something special.
We'll give it everything we've got against Solihull - I expect an attacking display full of good football
Simon Weaver
"I think his first touch takes him away from defenders. He's got this long rangy style and he gets his toe out in front of people.
"Make no mistake about it, this lad is talented."
Harrogate Town are at home to Solihull Moors on Saturday in their next game and Weaver said they are confident of getting their first win of the season.
"We'll be after the three points," he continued. "We'll give it everything we've got. I expect an attacking display full of good football."
