Grimsby Town battled their way to a point in their first home game in the Blue Square Bet Premier against York.
The Minstermen, last season's beaten play-off finalists, arguably had the better of a tight first half, with star striker Richard Brodie going close.
Grimsby improved after the break and striker Michael Coulson was twice thwarted by York keeper Michael Ingham.
But York had their chances too, with home goalkeeper Kenny Arthur keeping out a Michael Gash shot.
