Harrogate Town get off to slow start at Corby Town
Simon Weaver is in his second year in charge at Harrogate Town
Harrogate Town were made to pay for a slow start in their game against Corby Town on the opening day of the Blue Square Bet North season.
Ben Mackey and Andy Hall scored the goals for Corby before Graham Armstrong pulled one back for Town with 10 minutes left on the clock.
Manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York: "I think we're miles better than what we've shown today.
"There's a lot more to come from our side but we're still learning."
He added: "We're still gelling. It's not all negative but I just have high expectations of this team."
Weaver highlighted areas where he wants to see improvements before their next game at home to Droylsden.
"I was disappointed with the first half an hour really. I didn't think we really got a foothold in the game.
"Too many second balls were won in the midfield department. We were lacking.
"I thought the two centre halves played very well. But I think in the corner of midfield we weren't at it and we've got to be better at winning that war early on.
"When the game got stretched later on then we've got some players that can hurt at this level. But we can't afford to go a goal behind like that too early."
