Kidderminster Harriers' Tom Shaw recovered from conceding a penalty on his debut to score a last-minute spot kick against York.
Callum Gittings put Harriers ahead from close range with the game's first shot.
Last season's beaten play-off finalists York equalised late on when Shaw felled Michael Rankine in the area and the York striker buried the spot-kick.
But when Duane Courtney fouled Chris McPhee in the box in the 89th minute Shaw stepped up to emerge a debut hero.
