Group B leaders Yorkshire moved a step nearer to the CB 40 semi-finals with a 23-run win over second-placed Gloucestershire at Headingley.

Anthony McGrath (76) and Anthony Gale (61) were the main contributors to the Tykes' total of 247-5.

Alex Gidman (48) got the visitors off to a flying start but they were reduced to 161-5 by Rich Pyrah (4-43).

Hamish Marshall gave Gloucestershire hope, however when he fell for 53 they subsided to 224 all out.

Yorkshire now lead Gloucestershire by four points, having played a game more.

Gloucestershire captain Alex Gidman told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"Yorkshire scoring 97 in the last 10 overs was probably 20 too many and I think the guys would recognise that it wasn't through effort or thought it was just a little bit of execution which let them get a few too many.

"They (Yorkshire) played it very well, they had a couple more wickets in hand going into that last six or seven overs which probably made a little bit of difference as well.

"There was not too much difference in the game other than that."
