Louis is key striker - Gainsborough boss Brian Little
Louis has played for more than 20 clubs during his career
Gainsborough Trinity manager Brian Little says new signing Jefferson Louis is likely to be the Blue Square North club's main striker next season.
Louis, 31, has played for more than 20 clubs, including a spell under Little at Wrexham in the Blue Square Premier.
Little told BBC Lincolnshire: "He has the potential to score a lot of goals at this level so it's terrific for us.
"We have a lot of variations up front, but I think if he stays fit he will be the focal point of our attack."
Little added: "He's different to most centre-forwards in this division and he was terrific for me in the Conference - a real powerhouse with tremendous pace over 20 yards, strong and good in the air. "
And he admitted that he had been a little surprised to have secured the services of Louis, who was released by Crawley Town at the end of the season after a spell on loan at Rushden & Diamonds.
"He's had several offers from the division above but I think we spoke to him at the right time.
"A few weeks ago [assistant manager] Gavin Ward and I mentioned that Jefferson was in the play-offs with Rushden, and we thought to ourselves that he'd be the right sort of player to attract if we could.
"Once we started talking to him, the thought of signing him was exciting to us and it's terrific."
