Martin was airlifted to hospital after crashing on Senior race day

Injured TT racer Guy Martin has told his fans via Facebook he will return next year, after crashing on Friday.

Martin, from Lincolnshire, was admitted to the Isle of Man's Nobles Hospital after being involved in a high-speed crash at Ballagarey on Senior race day.

The incident on the third lap resulted in his bike catching fire and caused the original race to be red-flagged.

But Martin, who is recovering from bruising to his lungs and minor fractures, said: "Next year then."

Martin has been inundated with get well messages from fans on his Facebook page.
