Ian Hutchinson has had a remarkable week in the Isle of Man |
Ian Hutchinson aims to become the first rider to win five Isle of Man TT races in a week when he competes in Friday's six-lap Senior race. Hutchinson has already won the Superbike, Superstock classes and both Supersport races to equal Phillip McCallen's record of four wins. John McGuinness will hope to challenge after a disappointing week. Conor Cummins, Guy Martin, Keith Amor and Michael Dunlop are also all potential winners. Dunlop has two second places and a third under his belt already this week and also joined the elite band of riders who have lapped at over 130mph in Saturday's Superbike race. Cummins enjoyed a healthy 20-second lead when his McAdoo Kawasaki encountered clutch trouble on Saturday but had already recorded a speed over 131mph before his retirement. With good weather forecast, McGuinness' lap record of 131.578mph could well come under threat. McGuinness led on the first lap of Saturday's Superbike opener before retiring because of mechanical trouble. Ballymoney's Adrian Archibald was unfortunate not to get on the podium on Saturday and will be keen to make amends while Ryan Farquhar hopes to improve on his 10th-place finish in Saturday's race.
