Gainsborough Trinity propose alternative stadium site

Gainsborough Trinity

Gainsborough Trinity chairman Peter Swann says the club have identified an alternative location on the edge of the town for their proposed new stadium.

Their original plans for a site at the Queen Elizabeth High School were turned down by Lincolnshire County Council.

Swann told BBC Lincolnshire: "We're looking at a second site on Corringham Road, a 20-acre site.

"We've got to sit down with the council and the landowners but everything's looking good so I'm quite excited."

Gainsborough have been at their current Northolme ground, which is owned by supporters' group The Blues Club, for more than 125 years.
