Truro City's new boss Lee Hodges keen to keep playing
Hodges made more than 200 appearances for Plymouth Argyle
Truro City's new manager Lee Hodges has said he does not want to hang up his playing boots just yet.
The former Torquay midfielder, who took the role on a caretaker basis at the end of last season, was confirmed as Truro's permanent manager on Monday.
Hodges told BBC Cornwall: "I'll sign on as a player, but whether or not I'll play as a much I don't know.
"We haven't got the money to have a squad of 20-25 players so it'll be a small squad anyway."
During his playing career Hodges made over 200 appearances for Plymouth Argyle along with spells at Tottenham, Barnet and Reading, giving him extensive experience of the English game.
He said: "I always thought I would be in coaching at some capacity.
"I wasn't sure if it was going to be a manager or not, but while I've got the opportunity I'll give it a go."
And with Hodges a loan player at Truro only four months ago, working under then boss Steve Thompson, he admitted his new role has come somewhat out of the blue.
"It's come about really quickly," said Hodges. "I went and played there last season and after the manager left they asked me if I'd like to take the job.
"And with my career winding down I thought I'd give it a go."
