Workington play-off hopes alive - Reds boss Edmondson
Edmondson's side must travel to Alfreton for Sunday's second leg
Workington boss Darren Edmondson says hopes of reaching the Blue Square North play-off final remain alive despite losing the first leg of the semis.
The Reds 1-0 defeat by Alfreton, courtesy of Liam Hearn's strike, was their first loss in 12 games but Edmondson expects a strong response.
"We're only halfway there, there's 90 minutes to go and get another goal," Edmondson told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"We'll have a shake-up and get stuck into them on Sunday."
Edmondson added: "If you get beaten 1-0 in the first leg then it's disappointing and we've got to go away and grind a result out, but we're capable of doing that.
"Initially at the final whistle it's disappointing, but then we've sat and chatted about a few things and we were 80% of what we can do.
"At 1-0, we're nowhere near out of this game and I think we cam play a lot better. There are positives to take from every game we play."
Reds travel to Alfreton's Impact Arena for the second leg of the Blue Square North play-off semi-final on Sunday, 2 May, with coverage on BBC Radio Cumbria Sport.
