Workington manager Darren Edmondson has hailed his players for securing a play-off place in the Blue Square North with Saturday's 2-1 win at Solihull Moors.

"It's a good feeling, the lads are buzzing in the dressing room," Edmondson told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"It's a hard slog, and to come out with a victory is a testament to the squad."

The Reds, who face Hyde on Monday, clinched their play-off place with two games to spare after a nine-game unbeaten run.

"I don't want to single anybody out, the whole squad have been fantastic this season for myself and Viv [Busby, assistant] on another tough one," Edmondson added.

"The thing for today was to get through it and get points. We've got a big game on Monday.

"We want to put on a show for the fans, and have a day like this, have a party and then get ready for the following week [for the play-off game]."

Reds are currently fourth in Blue Square North, with two points separating them from Alfreton Town in third place.
