Flynn won the Blue Square North title in his first season as captain
Southport captain Adam Flynn is hopeful that the Sandgrounders can establish themselves in the Blue Square Premier following their promotion.
He told BBC Radio Merseyside: "Just to get there at the moment is an achievement in itself.
"Gateshead have done a decent job since going up and Tamworth and Kettering have done well coming up from this league [Blue Square North].
"Hopefully we can do as they've done and stay in that league."
The Sandgrounders beat Eastwood Town 3-0 on Saturday to clinch the title ahead of rivals Fleetwood Town and Flynn said: "It's defiantly the pinnacle of my career as a player and captain of Southport Football Club.
"I love being captain and even if I wasn't captain, it would still feel the same I think.
"I'm still only 25 and I have a long way to go in my career. Who knows were that will take me?"
