Craig Faulconbridge says Woking are 'sleeping giants'

Faulconbridge says Woking's fans deserve a successful club

Woking striker Craig Faulconbridge says his side are "sleeping giants" who should be in the Blue Square Premier.

The Cards host Dover in the first leg of their play-off semi-final on Tuesday, with the return on Saturday.

The 32-year-old told BBC Surrey: "You do tingle with the realisation that a club could be back where it belongs.

"It's a sleeping giant. The fans love their football and should have a team pushing to get higher. Hopefully we can deliver that for them."

He added: "I'm just glad to be a part of a team that are always going to be challenging and playing good football."

Faulconbridge, who joined Woking from Carshalton in March, is keen to see his side take an advantage in Tuesday's first leg at Kingfield.

He said: "The play-offs seem to have that little bit more spice and needle in the game. You've got to take every opportunity to get at least a foothold in the tie.

"I know what it takes to get in the right areas and score goals. If we keep the balls coming in, we've got a great chance on Tuesday and hopefully Saturday as well."
