Woking boss pays striker Craig Faulconbridge's wages
Craig Faulconbridge spent three years with Wrexham from 1999 to 2002
Woking manager Graham Baker has revealed that he is to pay the wages of new signing Craig Faulconbridge.
The 31-year-old striker has joined from Ryman League Premier Division outfit Carshalton Athletic to help Woking's Blue Square South play-off bid.
And Baker told BBC Surrey: "Before people start saying 'How can we afford him?', the bottom line is I will be paying personally Craig's wages.
"I feel if it can help get over the finishing line I'll play my part."
Baker added: "I'm sure if you look around within the non-league world I'm sure there's been other managers currently doing that or have done in the past. It's nothing new.
"I fully agree with everything the chairman and the board of directors have said to me this season, backed me this season, and the way they've tried to restructure the club this season.
"They've all got the club at heart like I have. We all want to pull in the same direction and whatever that takes for that to happen, then we'll all do it."
Faulconbridge, who was a trainee with Coventry, has had spells with Wycombe Wanderers and Wrexham.
