We need to take chances - Woking boss Graham Baker

Woking

Woking boss Graham Baker says his players must learn to convert their chances if they are to have any hope of making the Blue Square South play-offs.

The fourth-placed Cards lost to Thurrock on Saturday - their second consecutive 1-0 loss.

Baker told BBC Surrey: "We know and they know that they're more than capable of finishing in the play-offs.

"It's as simple as that but goals win games and they know their Achilles heel is taking and putting away chances."

He continued: "With 15 games to go, the problem with us is we're probably going to have another five more games like that this season, where we might dominate and create six or seven chances and lose 1-0.

If you miss - miss again, miss again. Keep going into the right areas, keep running into the right areas

"If it continues to happen, the end result will be that we won't be in the play-offs and it's as simple as that. There's no hiding from the fact and it's up to the individuals to grasp hold of the situation, take the pressure, embrace it and go for it.

"If you miss - miss again, miss again. Keep going into the right areas, keep running into the right areas, which we don't do enough, keep gambling in the right areas, which we don't do enough, anticipate, which we don't enough. They know all these things but it's only them who can do it.

"They be can be told and told and told and coached and coached and coached but sometimes it's the individual - when they cross the white line, it's their decision."
