John O'Flynn bagged a second-half double as Barnet ended a run of 14 games without a win and dented Aldershot's play-off hopes.
The visitors should have taken the lead when Oliver Bozanic set up John Grant, whose free header sailed wide.
Barnet made them regret several missed chances as Albert Adomah stormed down the right and Micah Hyde headed home.
O'Flynn pounced on a loose ball to make it 2-0 and added another when he nodded in a cross from David Livermore.
Barnet manager Ian Hendon told BBC London 94.9 that:
"I think relieved is the word. We haven't been playing that badly, but we just haven't been getting the rub of the green.
"Today was a good performance, we scored three good goals and a clean sheet to boot.
"It's all come together today and let's hope we can kick on from here."
Aldershot manager Kevin Dillon told BBC Surrey:
"They have taken their chances and we didn't take ours. 3-0 looks a poor result but it was never a 3-0 game.
"If we'd taken our chances when we could, it would have been a different scenario.
"It was just disappointing, we've got to put it right for the next game."
