Southern League Division One Midlands side Bromsgrove Rovers have parted company with manager John Snape.
Rovers, who were taken over by Mike Ward in October, are in administration and third-bottom of the league.
"I wouldn't say it was a total shock as when any new owner comes in there are going to be changes," he told BBC Hereford & Worcester.
"With the club still being run by the administrator there was a crossing-over period in the last couple of weeks."
I take my hat off to a lot of the players as they have been very loyal and committed through difficult time for everybody connected with the club

Snape, 40, was appointed to the role in May 2009 but much of his reign has been blighted by off-field disputes and the club's deepening financial problems.
Rovers went into administration in October of last year and later in the same month Ward emerged as the new owner.
Despite the massive problems the former Hereford midfielder is grateful to have had the opportunity to cut his teeth in management.
"It was my opportunity to take a job in football and I thank the person who gave me that opportunity," he said.
"But it has been a tricky trail in terms of trying to keep players focused and switched on.
"I have enjoyed it and I am disappointed that I am still not working at the football club," he said.
Snape says his time at the Victoria Ground was a steep learning curve but he is sure the experience will stand him in good stead in future jobs.
"I take my hat off to a lot of the players as they have been very loyal and committed through difficult time for everybody connected with the club," he added.
"The fans have also been great both at home and away and the togetherness has been great.
"Their encouragement and enthusiasm for me has been very good."
