Workington winger Henney retires

Henney made more than 250 appearances for Workington

Workington winger Matt Henney has announced his retirement on medical advice, due to a long-term back injury.

Henney, 33, returned to Borough Park during the summer from Blue Square Premier side Barrow, but has struggled to overcome the problem this season.

In three spells, Henney made more than 250 appearances for the club.

He also played for now-defunct Scottish side Gretna, and he played a key role in Barrow's return to the Blue Square Premier last season.
