Matt Henney scored the winner in last season's play-off final
Barrow winger Matt Henney says there is more to come from the Bluebirds after Tuesday night's 4-3 win at Altrincham.
The win saw Barrow go top of the Blue Square Premier. But Henney actually revealed that the performance had been criticised by Barrow's management team.
"It shows how far we've come," Henney told BBC Radio Cumbria. "We've won, but we haven't defended too well and we've been told off.
"We don't normally concede goals like that and I'm sure we'll get better."
Barrow led four times during the 4-3 win at Moss Lane through goals from Carlos Logan, Paul Brown and Jason Walker (2).
It follows Friday's opening night 3-0 win against Oxford United at Holker Street.
It's a great feeling to go top of the table but there's still a lot of hard work to do

"We showed plenty of character and everyone dug in," said Henney. "We were trying to get tight and defend but we couldn't and it was just an off night at the back.
"Even when it went to 2-2 and then to 3-3, we still knew we were going to win it. There is lots of belief in this team and in each other."
Henney, 32, joined the Bluebirds in 2007 from Workington Reds, where he made over 250 appearances while at Borough Park.
He also had a spell at Gretna, scoring scored the club's first goal in the Scottish Football League.
He was a key member of Barrow's promotion team last season, scoring the winner in the Blue Square North play-off final against Stalybridge Celtic.
"It's a great feeling to go top of the table," said Henney. "But there's still a lot of hard work to do.
"We've got great support from the fans and I think we can do well in this league."
