QPR striker Emmanuel Ledesma hit a hat-trick to book his side a spot in the third round of the Carling Cup at the expense of Carlisle.
The home side took the lead after 48 minutes when Damion Stewart headed firmly in from a Ledesma corner.
Ledesma then met a Gavin Mahon ball, darted into the area and produced a neat finish for QPR's second.
Ledesma collected Samuel Di Carmine's pass and fired in before slotting in late on for his third.
