Barrow joint-manager Dave Bayliss is confident of adding a new loan signing in time for Friday's FA Cup second-round tie against Brentford.
Bayliss would not reveal the player's identity or position but did confirm that he is with a League One club.
"We've spoken to the player and he seems keen to come," Bayliss told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"We've had permission from his parent club to play him on Friday and the club are keen to get him games."

"We've got a couple of injuries," Bayliss said. "Andy Bond and Matt Henney are both struggling so we need to get a couple more players.
"We are very active at the moment...we are looking in a few different areas so we'll have to see what comes out."
Bayliss confirmed that one of his targets is set to join the Barrow squad for training on Wednesday evening.
"The player is keen to come and we've just got to sort things out with his agent," he said.
"He's a player that we've watched over the last season and he will definitely strengthen us in that area."
