King's Lynn manager Carl Heggs has made a third raid on Blue Square North champions Tamworth to capture midfielder Matt Birley.

The 22-year-old follows striker Gareth Sheldon and defender Craig McAughtrie to the Walks.

Birley played for Birmingham City in a Premier League match in 2005, having learnt his trade in the Birmingham Academy ranks.

More recently, he has played for Lincoln City and Bromsgrove Rovers.

He played against King's Lynn for Tamworth last season when the teams met in Blue Square North - King's Lynn lost both matches.

Birley has also played against Norwich City in the League Cup while he was still at Birmingham.
