Second-placed St Paul's beat Grouville 5-0 on Saturday to trail leaders Trinity in the Premiership by just a solitary point.
Three points behind at the start of the day, the title-holders were too strong for Grouville.
Jordan Docherty scored two with Craig Russell, JP Martyn and Stuart Andre all getting one each.
"It was a confident and solid performance from the players," said St Paul's coach Craig Culkin.
League leaders Trinity gave points away in a goalless draw away at St Ouen.
All eyes are now on next weekend's top-of-the-table Trinity v St Paul's clash.
With five rounds remaining in the Premiership a victory for either side could prove vital.
But Culkin says he is treating the game as any other: "Please excuse the clich but it's just another game, we're treating it as usual."
"I'm confident in the squad's ability to play well and continue winning."
Third placed Jersey Scottish are now out of contention after losing 1-0 to St Peter.
The big match in the Championship was the second semi-final of the P.W. Touzel Memorial Trophy.
Portuguese Club smashed St John 9-1, and will now face St Brelade in the final on 14 April.
