Team Jersey were at the 2008 Jeux des Isles in Guadalope |
Jersey's top young sports people face a costly trip to Majorca in May to compete in the Jeux des Isles. The Spanish island has been selected to host the games from 28-31 May after Italian island Elba pulled out for financial reasons. With the games falling in half-term, flights could be expensive. Organiser Hugh Raymond said: "There's no real direct flight so we're looking at every avenue because it's not going to be cheap to get in." "We've had a quick look and it's looking quite expensive so we're looking at ways to get in there to make the costs a little less," he added on BBC Radio Jersey.
