Senegal striker Diomansy Kamara scored twice for Fulham against Aston Villa
After a season blighted by injury Senegal's Diomansy Kamara celebrated his first league start of the season with two goals for Fulham in a 3-1 win over Aston Villa.
In fact Kamara was brought down for the penalty converted by Danny Murphy for Fulham's opening goal, they are now in seventh place in the Premier League.
South Africa striker Benni McCarthy put the disappointment of being dropped from the Bafana Bafana squad behind by converting a penalty for Blackburn Rovers to secure his side a 2-0 win over Portsmouth.
Meanwhile Stoke City and their seven African players including five from Senegal can look forward to top-flight football next season.
Stoke's 2-1 win over Hull City guaranteed their place in the Premier League next season.
SPAIN
Mali's Seydou Keita and Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o thought their goals were going to help Barcelona win the Spanish League title.
Their goals helped Barcelona to a 3-1 lead against visitors Villareal but they then scored twice in the final 12 minutes to secure a 3-3 draw and put Barcelona's celebrations on hold.
Barcelona's chance to win the title came as closest rivals Real Madrid lost 3-0 to Valencia on Saturday. With three games remaining Barcelona have a chance to seal it at Mallorca next weekend.
It was a good weekend for Nigeria's Uche brothers.
Kalu was among the scorers for Almeria who came from behind to beat Sporting Gijon 3-1. His brother Ikechukwu was also on target, scoring the last goal for Getafe who beat Osasuna 3-0.
Mali striker Frederic Kanoute put Sevilla ahead from the penalty spot as they outclassed Mallorca 3-1, the win keeps Sevilla in third place in the league.
GERMANY
Senegal striker Demba Ba was on target in the 68th minute for Hoffenheim in their 2-0 win over Koln.
It was Ba's 12th goal of the season as his side won their first match since January.
HOLLAND
Mounir El Hamdaoui finished as the top scorer in Holland with 23 league goals
It was the final day of the season in Holland and the Ivory Coast's Sekou Cisse helped Roda JC avoid relegation for the time being with a 3-2 win over nine-man Feyenoord.
Roda JC will now be involved in the play-offs with teams from the second division in a bid to stay in the top flight.
Morocco's Mounir El Hamdaoui capped his great season with a his 23rd league goal as his side AZ Alkmaar beat Heerenveen 3-1.
Alkmaar have been already crowned league champions and El Hamdaoui confirmed as the league's top scorer.
BELGIUM
It was the penultimate weekend of the season in Belgium.
Moroccan striker Mbark Boussoufa gave Anderlecht the lead in the 12th minute as they beat Roulers 3-1.
Anderlecht stay ahead of Standard Liege on goal difference. Both teams have away games next Saturday - Liege are at Gent while Anderlecht travel to play Genk.
Algerian midfielder Fadel Brahami equalised for Mons in a 1-1 draw with Tubize - but both clubs are relegated.
DR Congo midfielder Geoffrey Bia scored the final goal for Charleroi in a 3-0 win over Genk.
Second-half goals by Rwandan Henri Munyaneza and Nigerian Tosin Dosunmu assured Germninal Beerschot all three points in a 3-1 win over Mechelen.
FRANCE
There were six Africans on show in the French Cup final with four of them on the winning side as second division side Guingamp caused an upset with a 2-1 win over top-flight Rennes.
Guingamp are the first cup winners from the second division in 50 years, Le Havre were the last team to achieve the feat, in 1959.
Burkina Faso's Bakary Kone, Nigeria's Wilson Oruma, Gilson Manuel Silva Alves of Cape Verde and Benin's Mouritala Ogunbiyi all played for the winners.
Cameroon's Stephane M'bia and Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan were unable to help Rennes to victory.
