Senegal striker Diomansy Kamara scored twice for Fulham against Aston Villa

After a season blighted by injury Senegal's Diomansy Kamara celebrated his first league start of the season with two goals for Fulham in a 3-1 win over Aston Villa.

In fact Kamara was brought down for the penalty converted by Danny Murphy for Fulham's opening goal, they are now in seventh place in the Premier League.

South Africa striker Benni McCarthy put the disappointment of being dropped from the Bafana Bafana squad behind by converting a penalty for Blackburn Rovers to secure his side a 2-0 win over Portsmouth.

It was the final day of the season in Holland and the Ivory Coast's Sekou Cisse helped Roda JC avoid relegation for the time being with a 3-2 win over nine-man Feyenoord.

Roda JC will now be involved in the play-offs with teams from the second division in a bid to stay in the top flight.
