African goals in Europe: 25-26 April

Here's the BBC's weekly round-up of the feats of African footballers across the European leagues.


ENGLAND
Chelsea & Ivory Coast Salomon Kalou
Salomon Kalou scored to give Chelsea victory over West Ham

Ivory Coast forward Salomon Kalou was on target for Chelsea as they beat West Ham 1-0.

Chelsea remain in third place and six points behind league leaders Manchester United - who also have a game in hand.

Benni McCarthy of South Africa opened the scoring in Blackburn Rovers 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic.

The win moves the club six points clear of the relegation zone.

The game also featured Egypt's Amr Zaki 's first appearance for the club since incurring the wrath of his manager Steve Bruce with his delayed return from international duty.

He replaced his compatriot Mido at half-time.

FRANCE
Senegal & Marseille striker Mamadou Niang
Niang celebrates his goal with his Marseille team mates

Marseille stretched their lead at the top of the league after coming from behind to beat Lille 2-1, with five games remaining.

Senegal striker Mamadou Niang scored the winner.

Marseille are now five points ahead of Bordeaux.

Andre Dede Ayew had his late goal for Lorient cancelled out in the last minute in the 1-1 draw at Toulouse.

It was the Ghanaian midfielder's third goal of the season.

Gabon striker Eric Mouloungui scored his fourth of the season for Nice who beat bottom side Saint Etienne 3-1.

Cameroon striker Pierre Boya chose a great time to open his goal-scoring account for the season.

His was the only goal of the game as Grenoble beat Le Havre 1-0.

Guinean Amara Bangoura also scored his first of the season as Valenciennes drew 1-1 at 10-man Sochaux.

BELGIUM

Senegal striker Mbaye Leye scored only his third of the season for Gent, heading home the opening goal in a 3-1 triumph away at Roulers.

The other African goal was scored by South African Anele Ngongca.

The defender scored the winner from close range for Genk who came from behind to beat Cercle Bruges 2-1.

It was his third of the season and second in as many games.

SPAIN

Cameroon & Barcelona forward Samuel Eto'o
Eto'o's Barcelona saw their lead cut at the top of La Liga

Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o was unable to help Barcelona win away at Valencia.

The league leaders could only draw 2-all at the Mestalla.

Real Madrid beat Frederic Kanoute 's Sevilla 4-2 to cut Barcelona's lead to four points.

The big two of Real Madrid and Barcelona clash on Saturday.

Almeria striker Kalu Uche struck early on to help his side to a 2-1 win over Numancia.

The Nigerian has scored seven goals this season.

And Guinean striker Alhassane Keita scored his third goal in two games as he struck in the last minute to seal victory for Mallorca who beat Recreativo 4-2.

Keita also scored a brace for Mallorca on Thursday as they beat Valladolid.

GERMANY

Algerian Karim Matmour put Borussia Monchengladbach into the lead in the 12th minute in their 1-1 draw with Arminia Bielefeld.

HOLLAND

Over in Holland, Morocco's Nourdin Boukhari scored the second goal for NAC Breda who beat Nijmegen in a 3-2 thriller.

There was a last-minute sending-off for the Sierra Leone defender Gibril Sankoh but his side Groningen drew 0-0 with Willem II.

TURKEY

Ivorian striker Francois Zoko put Hacettepe Spor ahead in the seventh minute as they dismissed Istanbul Buyuksehir 2-1.

Elsewhere the Gabonese striker Roguy Meye equalised in the last minute as Ankaraspor held Galatasaray 1-1.

Greece

Ivorian striker Ibrahim Bakayoko was among the goal scorers for Paok Saloniki who beat Panserraikos 4-1.

Lanky Nigerian striker Victor Agali inspired Xanthi Skoda to a 4-1 win after giving them the lead over Iraklis Saloniki.
