It was a thrilling weekend of football across the European leagues, with African players making a huge impact as usual. Here is BBC Sport's weekly run-down of Africa's finest in action.
SPAIN
Eto'o is the leading scorer in Spain
Barcelona's African contingent of Samuel Eto'o, Seydou Keita and Yaya Toure are celebrating another league title for the Catalan giants despite a 2-1 defeat to Mallorca.
Barca went into the game with the championship already in the bag following Real Madrid's earlier 3-2 defeat at Villarreal.
Eto'o scored his 29th goal of the season to give the Champions League finalists a 10th-minute lead against Mallorca.
But with Barcelona trailing 2-1 in stoppage time, the Cameroonian missed a penalty that would have ensured a share of the points.
HOLLAND
Celebrations also for South African goalkeeper Hans Vonk and the Ivory Coast winger Bonaventure Kalou after their team SC Heerenveen beat FC Twente 5-4 on penalties to win the Dutch Cup for the first time.
The match had finished 2-2 after extra time.
Kalou appeared to have secured victory for Heerenveen in extra time but Ethiopian-born Youssouf Hersi's equaliser sent the tie to penalties.
Kalou then scored one of the penalties.
ITALY
Another African with plenty to shout about after the weekend's events is Sulley Muntari.
The Ghanaian midfielder is part of the Inter Milan side that has retained the Italian league title with three games still to play.
Inter were crowned champions after city rivals AC Milan lost 2-1 at Udinese.
Inter's triumph - in Jose Mourinho's first season as manager - is their fourth straight title and their 17th overall.
ENGLAND
Nigerian defender Joseph Yobo scored his first goal of the season for Everton in their 3-1 win over West Ham.
But the star of the show was South African midfielder Steven Pienaar who capped an outstanding display by creating the third goal for Louis Saha.
Diomansy Kamara's first-half strike kept Fulham in seventh place but left Newcastle's hopes of staying in the English top flight hanging by a thread.
FRANCE
Malian Mamadou Bagayoko scored as his side Nante drew 1-1 with Rennes.
Nante have won only one of their last 14 games and remain second from bottom on 34 points, three points from safety.
Marouane Chamakh of Morocco was on the scoresheet as his Bordeaux side beat Le Mans 3-2.
Malian striker Mamadou Diallo scored after just 10 minutes for Le Havre against Lorient but they surrendered the lead soon after the break and the game eventually finished 1-1.
GERMANY
Borussia Dortmund thrashed Arminia Bielefeld 6-0, with the last goal coming from Egyptian striker Mohamed Zidan.
One other goal in the Bundesliga to tell about - Senegalese striker Demba Ba got the first for Hoffenheim as they drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich.
