A last-gasp winner from Ross Allen sealed Guernsey's place in the National League System Cup final.

The senior county representative side took the lead through Glyn Dyer inside five minutes, before the Dorset Premier League side scored twice to lead 2-1.

Five minutes from time pressure from Guernsey finally told when Dorset conceded an own goal.

Allen, who admitted he feared the goals would never come, scored in injury time to give the island side victory.

In the final, which will also be played in the island, Guernsey face either Liverpool County Premier League or the Yorkshire Old Boys League with the winners going on to represent England in Europe.

Guernsey coach Tony Vance said: "I think without doubt we deserved the result, but it nearly wasn't so full credit to the players. They were absolutely fantastic.

"I felt like it was going to be one of those missed opportunities. We like to attack when we play and we did everything but score and we just couldn't get that goal.

"Dorset are a very well organised side. They didn't give much away. And we gave away two poor goals, so I'm disappointed by that, but we were certainly the better side and justice was done in the end.

"We haven't achieved anything. We haven't won anything yet.

"But I'm proud of them. They've worked very hard. We've had five or six tough games in this competition."
