The Isle of Man's national football team was knocked out of the National League System Cup by Liverpool County Premier League on Saturday.
The Manx team missed several golden chances in the second round tie, as they were beaten 2-1 away at Liverpool County FA's Walton Hall Avenue ground.
Jimmy Lundon netted both Liverpool's goals in the second-half before Calum Morrissey scored a late consolation.
Island coach Kevin Manning said: "We're disappointed. It was a winnable game."
He continued: "I can't fault the lads for their effort but the [end-product] wasn't there on Saturday.
"We could and should have scored a hat full."
The Isle of Man defeated Liverpool on their way to the semi-finals last season.
Liverpool County Premier League chairman, Ian Munro said: "The Isle of Man knocked us out last year, so it was good to beat them this time - it was a cracking match."
