The Manx national side booked their place in the second round of the NLS Cup with an emphatic 3-0 away victory over Midlands Combination on Saturday.

Chris Bass Jr opened the scoring for Kevin Manning's men before Kevin Megson netted from the spot to make it 2-0 at the interval.

Bass netted a third late on to book the island's place in the second round at the expense of last year's finalists.

Manning said: "It was an absolutely brilliant performance."

He added: "It was devastating when they knocked us out on penalties last year in the semis."

And Manning, who brought several new faces into the squad this week, continued: "All the new lads were involved in key stages of play, so we'll be confident whoever we get in Wednesday's draw."
