The Classic Races were introduced at the Southern 100 in 1987 |
Organisers of the Southern 100 International Road Races are reluctantly dropping the classic races from their 2010 meeting. Press officer Phil Edge said the Classics have seen a significant decline in numbers in recent years. "It's unfair on the riders and supporters to have half-empty grids. "I hope people understand our decision, we've done are very best to support the Classics over the years but it's simply down to the numbers." Classic competitors can still pit their skills around the 4.25-mile Billown course at the Pre-TT Classic Solo & Sidecar Races.
